Not long after moving into their house, homeowners in Logan, OH, noticed problems with moisture and humidity. They investigated every nook and cranny, and they stumbled onto the door leading to the crawl space underneath the house. Upon peeking inside the crawl space, the owners were disgusted with the nasty conditions they saw. There were several areas of standing water, and insulation was moldy and failing.
The owners wanted to address these issues once and for all. As they began to research potential repairs, they saw some of Ohio Basement Authority’s TV ads. They were eager to contact us to learn more about how we could help them. Inspector John Dean visited to complete a thorough evaluation of the crawl space. He discussed his findings including water seepage and failing insulation with the owners, as well as their goals for repair. John then recommended some of our reliable crawl space repair solutions.
Foreman Michael Gramly then led his crew in waterproofing and encapsulating the crawl space. The CrawlDrain drainage system was installed in the floor to catch seeping water from the walls and floor. This water is then directed to the SafeDri Pro sump pump and then pumped out of the crawl space. The crawl space was then encapsulated in CrawlSeal liner, which completely seals the crawl space from the earth.
Additionally, a Dehumidifier was installed, and he open vents were concealed with exterior vent covers.
The homeowners are pleased to have a dry and healthy crawl space, as well as a healthier home.
