Upon purchasing a 60-year-old house in Circleville, OH, the new owner wanted to promptly address glaring problems he noticed in the basement. Two of the foundation walls were cracking and slightly tilting inward.
Concerned with the safety and structural integrity of the house, the owner began to research potential repairs. He met with a local contractor, but was motivated to also contact Ohio Basement Authority for advice after visiting our website. Inspector Clark Sturgill met with the owner and assessed the condition of the walls. Clark then presented the owner with one type of our many reliable foundation repair solutions, and the owner was eager to move forward with the project.
Foreman Michael Gramly and his crew then installed several IntelliBrace beams along the problematic foundation walls. These heavy-duty steel beams are secured to the floor joists, plumbed against the wall as level as possible, and then anchored to the floor. The large bolt at the top of the beams can be adjusted and tightened to potentially improve and straighten the walls over time. The beams also are zinc-plated so they will be protected from corrosion and damage.
The new owner is pleased to now have a safe and stable living environment that he will be able to enjoy for many years to come.
