They have lived in their house for several years, but with the arrival of their new baby, homeowners in Lockbourne, OH, wanted to make sure the family living environment would be a safe and healthy one. Lately, they’ve noticed musty, damp and humid conditions in the house, which they wanted to remedy right away.
After finding information about Ohio Basement Authority online, the homeowners were eager to contact us to learn more about how we could help them. Inspector Andy Kennedy visited to complete a thorough evaluation. He ventured into the three separate crawl space areas under the house and noted that each contained unsightly and unhealthy conditions. Andy discussed his findings with the homeowners, as well as their repair goals, and he then presented them with our reliable crawl space repair solutions.
One crawl space that was leaking and had standing water was waterproofed with the CrawlDrain drainage system and SafeDri Pro sump pump. A FreezeGuard was attached to the exterior sump pump discharge line, and this line was tied into a new downspout conductor line that was installed underground on the property. A YardWell outlet was placed on the end of this line to camouflage it in the yard.
Each crawl space was then encapsulated with Crawlseal liner and insulated with ExTremeBloc panels and spray foam. A Dehumidifier also was installed to clean and filter the air, control moisture and humidity, and reduce odors and the potential for mold growth. Several vent covers were placed on the home’s exterior to further seal the crawl space from outside air, precipitation and pests.
The homeowners can rest easier knowing these trustworthy solutions have helped them create a safer and healthier living environment for their family.
