A homeowner in Lancaster, OH, rarely goes into the crawl space under his house. But a recent peek inside revealed a variety of problems including standing water, rotting wood, open vents, and other issues. He also noticed some areas of the above floors were sagging and unlevel, as well as cold during the winter.
The homeowner plan to live in his house indefinitely, so he wanted to properly address these issues once and for all. He was motivated to contact Ohio Basement Authority after seeing our TV ads. He then met with Inspector Zeke Fowler who completed a thorough evaluation of the crawl space. Zeke then presented the homeowner with several reliable repair solutions.
One of our crews first worked to properly stabilize the crawl space and above floors with heavy-duty IntelliJacks. The crawl space was then waterproofed with the CrawlDrain drainage system and SafeDri sump pump, as well as an external FreezeGuard discharge line attachment. The crawl space was then insulated with ExTremeBloc panels on the walls and spray foam in the band joists. Crawlseal liner was then used to encapsulate the crawl space and isolate it from the earth. Vent covers also were placed on the home’s exterior, and a door replaced the older exterior crawl space access door.
The homeowner now has peace of mind knowing these trustworthy repairs have helped him create a healthy and safe living environment that he will be able to enjoy for many years to come.
