During the 10 years that they have lived in their house, homeowners in Powell, OH have been dealing with various problems in their basement. Several areas of the walls were cracking, and water was leaking through these cracks during heavy rains.
The homeowners would like to finish the basement of their forever home, but they didn’t want to have to worry about wall cracks and seeping water affecting the living environment. They were motivated to address these problems once and for all, and they knew they could count on Ohio Basement Authority for the perfect solutions. One of the owners’ parents were pleased with the waterproofing and egress window projects we completed for them in the past.
The homeowners met with one of our inspectors, the same inspector who advised the referring parents. Our inspector completed a thorough evaluation of the basement and recommended some of our reliable basement waterproofing and foundation repair solutions. He also suggested having an egress window installed for safety purposes.
Two of our crews then worked to complete these projects. One crew installed the egress window, and another crew waterproofed and stabilized the basement. To address seeping water, the crew installed the sub-floor BasementGutter system. This system is designed to catch water from the walls and floor, and then direct it to the SafeDri Prox sump pump. A FreezeGuard also was attached to the exterior sump pump discharge line during the waterproofing project.
The cracking, tilting foundation walls were then permanently reinforced with several Carbon Fiber supports. These heavy-duty supports firmly adhere to the walls to stabilize them in their current positions. The Carbon Fiber straps also prevent any further cracking or inward bowing, and their low profile allows them to be easily concealed with basement finishing materials.
The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing these trustworthy repairs have helped them create a safe and stable living environment that they will be able to enjoy for many years to come.
