After living in their house for many years, homeowners in Reynoldsburg, OH, were motivated to finally address a lingering problem they couldn’t continue to ignore – their crawl space. They rarely venture into this area under their house, but they knew it was full of problems that contributed to issues in their main living area.
Along with areas of sagging floors – indicating a failing support system in the crawl space – the crawl space leaked and had standing water, and it was not properly sealed or insulated.
The owners wanted to address these issues once and for all so they would have a healthier home. After seeing Ohio Basement Authority’s TV ads, they were eager to contact us to learn more about how we could help them. They met with Inspector Zeke Fowler who completed a thorough evaluation of the crawl space. Zeke then recommended the perfect repair solutions.
One of our crews then waterproofed the crawl space with the CrawlDrain drainage system and SafeDri Pro sump pump, as well as external FreezeGuard attachments. The crawl space was then encapsulated with Crawlseal and insulated with ExTremeBloc panels. IntelliJacks also were installed to better support the above floor and floor joists, and the dehumidifier was placed in the crawl space to improve the air quality throughout the crawl space and home. Vent covers were also placed on the home’s exterior to further seal the crawl space from outside air, water and pests.
The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing these trustworthy repairs have helped them enhance the safety and health of not only the formerly nasty crawl space, but also the rest of their home.
