After living in their house for four years, homeowners in Mount Sterling, OH, knew they couldn’t continue to ignore lingering problems in their house. The floors always felt cold, and they were concerned with energy costs.
The owners seldom go into the crawl space under the house, but a recent peek inside revealed the lack of proper sealing or insulation, as well as standing water and unpleasant odors. After hearing about Ohio Basement Authority, the owners were motivated to have these issues taken care of for good. They met with one of our inspectors who evaluated the condition of the crawl space. Our inspector then presented the owners with the perfect repair solutions.
Foreman Martimiano Alonso and his crew then waterproofed the crawl space by installing the CrawlDrain drainage system in the crawl space floor, along with a SafeDri Pro sump pump. Drainage matting was placed on the floor to help direct water to the CrawlDrain system, and the crawl space was encapsulated and sealed from the earth with Crawlseal liner. ExTremeBloc panels were placed on the walls to insulate the crawl space, and spray foam was applied to the band joists for additional insulation. The crawl space was further sealed off by exterior vent covers, and a Dehumidifier also was installed to help control moisture and humidity.
The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing these trustworthy repairs have helped them create a safe and healthy living environment.
