While they have lived in their house for almost 20 years, it wasn’t until recently that homeowners in Enon, OH, began to notice potential health issues in their home. They detected dampness and musty odors, and they wondered where they could be coming from.
After learning about Ohio Basement Authority, the owners were eager to contact us for further guidance. They met with one of our inspectors who evaluated the structure and ventured into the crawl space. While in this area under the house, our inspector confirmed this was the source of unpleasant conditions. There were open vents and improper insulation and floor lining, as well as failing floor joists that contributed to sagging floors.
After discussing his findings with the owners, as well as discussing their goals with a repair project, our inspector then presented the owners with some of our reliable crawl space repair solutions. The owners were then motivated to proceed with these repairs with one of our installation crews.
Foreman Milton Castro and his crew first removed any debris and other nuisances from the crawl space. Vent covers were placed on the home’s exterior to seal the area from outside air, water and pests. The crawl space was then encapsulated in Crawlseal liner and insulated with ExTremeBloc panels that were placed on the walls. The sagging floor joists also were reinforced and lifted by four IntelliJacks.
The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing these trustworthy repairs have helped them create a safer and healthier living environment.
