Eager to move into their house, new homeowners in Byesville, OH, first wanted to ensure the home’s health and safety. As they investigated every nook and cranny to create a repair to-do list, they decided to work from the ground up after seeing the crawl space. This area under the house was not properly sealed or insulated, and there was standing water that had leaked inside.
The homeowners found Ohio Basement Authority during their research, and they were motivated to contact us for further guidance. They met with Inspector Francis Purcell who ventured into the crawl space to assess the condition of the area. Francis then presented the owners with some of our reliable repair solutions.
Foreman Martimiano Alonso and his crew first removed the failing plastic floor liner and any debris. They then placed the CrawlDrain drainage system throughout the crawl space perimeter in the floor, and the SafeDri sump pump was connected to this system. The crawl space was then encapsulated and fully sealed from the earth with Crawlseal liner. A dehumidifier also was installed, and spray foam insulation also was applied to the band joists.
All of these solutions work together to keep the crawl space, as well as the rest of the home, healthy and dry. The owners can now enjoy their new home for many years to come because of these trustworthy repairs.
