A homeowner recently purchased a house in Lancaster, OH, as a rental property. While tackling repair projects around the house, the owner discovered some issues in the basement. Water appeared to be leaking inside, and some areas of the foundation walls were cracking and tilting inward.
The owner wanted to have these issues corrected to ensure the health and safety of the home for his renters. After having a remarkable experience with Ohio Basement Authority on another repair project, the owner knew he could again turn to us for the best solutions. He met with one of our inspectors who completed a thorough evaluation of the home and its problematic basement. Our inspector then presented the owner with some reliable waterproofing and foundation repair solutions.
One of our crews then waterproofed the basement with the BasementGutter interior drainage system and a SafeDri Prox sump pump, as well as an exterior FreezeGuard attachment and downspout conductor line. All of these solutions work together to catch seeping water and effectively remove it from the basement.
Our crew also permanently stabilized the failing foundation walls with IntelliBrace beams. These heavy-duty beams are zinc-plated so they are protected from corrosion and damage. Another unique feature with this system is the ability to tighten the beams during dry seasons to potentially improve and straighten the walls over time.
The homeowner now has peace of mind knowing the home will be a safer and healthier living environment for his tenants.
