Whether you are taking on repair projects to benefit your own living environment or a property you want to sell, it is important to address not only the appearance of the house but its health as well.
The owners of a 57-year-old house in Beverly, OH, wanted to flip the house to sell to others. One repair project included replacing the floorboards. After removing some of these beams, they discovered a nasty crawl space was underneath the home. This area was unsightly and unhealthy, full of debris and failing insulation and floor liner.
As the owners started to search for ways to best address these problems, they came across Ohio Basement Authority’s website and they were eager to contact us for further guidance. They met with Inspector John Becker Sr. who ventured into the crawl space to assess the condition of this area. John then presented the owners with some of our reliable crawl space repair solutions.
One of our crews then worked to transform this area. They first took great care to remove the debris, insulation and lining from the crawl space. Thick drainage matting was then placed on the crawl space floor to enhance the durability of the encapsulation material. The crawl space was the encapsulated in CrawlSeal liner. This liner completely seals the crawl space and isolates it from the earth. Crawlseal also is a moisture and vapor barrier, and it helps insulate the crawl space. The crawl space was further sealed from outside air, water and pests by exterior vent covers that were placed over the vents.
The owners now have peace of mind knowing this trustworthy repair project has helped them create a healthier and safer crawl space and home.
