After living in their house for almost 20 years, homeowners in Westerville, OH, started to notice problems in their finished basement. Water was leaking, and they suspected at least one of the walls had structural issues. After removing drywall from one of the walls, they noticed it was cracking and tilting inward.
The owners wanted to fix these problems before serious damage resulted. After hearing about Ohio Basement Authority from a trusted friend, the owners were motivated to contact us to learn more about how we could help them. They met with Inspector Francis Purcell who assessed the condition of the problematic foundation walls and leaking basement areas. Francis then presented the owners with some of our reliable basement waterproofing and foundation repair solutions.
One of our crews, led by Foreman Eric Estell, then stabilized the walls with IntelliBrace beams and Carbon Fiber supports. Both of these solutions permanently reinforce the walls where they are installed and protect them from any further cracking or inward movement. The IntelliBrace beams, which can be tightened during dry seasons for possible wall improvement, were placed on the more severely cracking and tilting wall. Carbon Fiber supports, which firmly adhere to the wall, were placed on the wall that wasn’t in as serious of a state of disrepair.
The homeowners can rest easier knowing these trustworthy solutions have helped them create a safe, stable, healthy and dry living environment.
