After living in his house for almost 20 years, a homeowner in Hilliard, OH, began to notice a problem with his exterior drainage system. He had a company out to run a camera through the lines, and there was evidence of cracking and clogging in the lines. The owner was not prepared for a repair project, so he let it go for a couple years.
The problems have gotten worse with recent rains, and the owner didn’t want to have to worry about flooding or other damage to his home and property. Ready to have the issues fixed, he began to research repair options. After finding information about Ohio Basement Authority on Angie’s List, he was eager to contact us and meet with one of our inspectors. Inspector Andrew Rothenberg evaluated the condition of the drainage lines, some of which were above ground, and he recommended repairing and upgrading the system.
One of our crews, led by Foreman Milton Castro, then installed newer, thicker lines in the ground to replace the older, failing lines. These lines were directed to drain water at the street side curb in front of the house. A FreezeGuard also was attached to the exterior discharge to prevent flooding if the line freezes or becomes blocked.
The homeowner is pleased to now have an updated exterior drainage system that will help keep his home dry.
