Photo Album: Egress Window Installed for Safety in Lithopolis, OH

Album Description

After living in her house for a few years, a homeowner in Lithopolis, OH, wanted to make sure her functional finished basement was up to code.

According to the International Code, “Basements, habitable attics, and every sleeping room shall have at least one operable emergency escape and rescue opening.” The solution is to have an egress window system installed.

While the basement has windows, they are too small to be considered egress windows.

The owner began to research how to best address this issue, and she was eager to contact Ohio Basement Authority after learning about our company online. She met with one of our inspectors who confirmed the necessity of the window system.

One of our crews then completed the egress window installation. The owner is pleased this project was completed to enhance the safety of her home.
