Fix Your Foundation With Ohio Basement Authority
Doug Secrest, from Ohio Basement Authority, explains the problems that are affecting this crawl space. Excessive mold and mildew has formed because the crawl space insulation has 'trapped' moisture by causing the foundation walls to over-condensate. This crawl space has a sump-pump with no interior drainage system along the perimeter, which is ineffective for standing water in the crawl space. Ohio Basement Authority will go to work by cleaning up all the debris, treating all the mold and mildew with an antimicrobial product, install a perimeter drainage system to channel water to the sump-pump, and then seal the crawl space to prevent future gases from entering the home.
Crawl Space Mold and Mildew
Doug Secrest, from Ohio Basement Authority, is down in this homeowners problematic crawl space - where mold, water and mildew have become a big problem. Along the walls of the crawl space, the insulation was recently removed because the walls were being 'over-insulated' trapping moisture and causing mold and mildew to grow. Next, an interior drainage system will be installed to drain all sources of standing water and moisture affecting this crawl. Then the walls, floors and floor joists will all be treated with an antimicrobial product to help prevent mold future mold growth.
Crawl Space Repair and Moisture Problems
Doug Secrest, from Ohio Basement Authority, explains what work was done to this crawl space to get rid of excessive standing water, mold and mildew. To combat the crawl space moisture problems we installed an interior drainage system with perforated holes to allow proper drainage to the sump-pump. The water channeling to the sump-pump will pump the water up and out of the home, keeping the crawl space dry and functional for the home.
