Homeowners in New Albany, OH, rarely go into their crawl space, but the couple of times they have ventured into this area under their home they have noticed some unhealthy conditions. Water was seeping into the crawl space and saturating the insulation and plastic floor liner. This is the perfect breeding ground for mold, which can lead to health issues.
The homeowners were concerned with these problems affecting the rest of the house, as well as their ability to sell the home. They contacted Ohio Basement Authority after learning more about our company and services through online resources like Angie’s List. We then installed several of our reliable crawl space repair and waterproofing products.
After removing the failing insulation and lining, we installed a crawl space drainage system. This included CrawlDrain in the crawl space floor to intercept seeping water. This water will then be directed to the SafeDri sump pump.
We also completely sealed the home from the earthy by encapsulating the crawl space in durable CrawlSeal liner. This liner also prevents moisture and vapor intrusion, and helps insulate the crawl space. ExTremeBloc panels were installed on the walls for further insulation and energy efficiency.
Exterior waterproofing installations included a sump pump discharge line, a FreezeGuard attached to this line, and a YardWell at the end of the line that was buried underground.
The owners now have peace of mind knowing the house will be a healthier living environment not only for themselves, but for future owners for many more years to come.
