After living in their house for several years, homeowners in Gahanna, OH, were concerned with the condition of their crawl space and efficiency of their sump pump. The partial crawl space adjacent to the basement lacked any proper floor liner or insulation, which prevented the owners from using the area for storage. They also wished they had an updated sump pump system with a backup battery.
The homeowners were motivated to address these issues after speaking with some of Ohio Basement Authority’s team as they manned our booth at a local home and garden show. They set up an appointment to meet with one of our highly trained inspectors, and he recommended several permanent solutions to meet their repair needs.
We encapsulated the partial crawl space in CrawlSeal liner and insulated it with ExTremeBloC panels and spray foam in the band joists. CrawlSeal and ExTremeBloc work together to create a healthier and more functional crawl space that is an ideal storage area.
The older sump pump was replaced by the SafeDri Battery Backup System. Along with two powerful pumps inside the liner, the external battery ensures the system will continue to operate even during a power outage. This system was installed in the larger SafeDri Triple liner to allow for easy future upgrades.
The homeowners are happy to have a usable crawl space and reliable sump pump to help keep their home healthy.
