Homeowners in Reynoldsburg, OH, have lived in their house since it was built almost 40 years ago. Various repairs have been completed during that time, including installing structural steel I-Beams and sealing the walls to reinforce the cracking foundation walls. Water also leaked into the basement though these foundation wall cracks, saturating the walls and floor and leaving puddles and visible damage behind. This resulted in an unsightly and unhealthy basement.
The homeowners’ son wanted to help his parents correct these issues so the basement and the rest of the home would be a healthy living environment. He knew he could count on one of his friends, an inspector with Ohio Basement Authority, to help him in this venture. Inspector Brendan Kent completed a thorough evaluation of the basement, and he presented his friend and the homeowners with several reliable basement waterproofing solutions.
One of our experienced crews transformed the basement by installing the BasementGutter interior drainage system to catch any water that might seep through the wall and floor. The crew also replaced the older sump pump system with the SafeDri ProX sump pump. The SafeDri features a powerful Zoeller ® 1/3 hp sump pump that can pump more than 2,000 gallons of water per hour out of a basement. This system was installed in the larger SafeDri Triple liner to allow for easy future upgrades.
A FreezeGuard was attached to the exterior sump pump discharge line, and this line was tied into new downspout conductor lines that were installed on the property.
The CrawlSeal wall system was used to cover the unsightly walls and help with waterproofing. Any seeping water will run behind the liner and down to the BasementGutter system below. The CrawlSeal liner also acts as a moisture and vapor barrier.
The homeowners and their son now have peace of mind knowing these reliable solutions have helped create a safer living environment.
