A homeowner in Mansfield, OH, wanted to tackle various repair projects to clean up her 66-year-old house. One at the top of her to-do list was addressing the dirty, smelly crawl space under the house.
After seeing Ohio Basement Authority’s TV ads, the owner was motivated to contact us for further guidance. She met with one of our inspectors who ventured into the crawl space to evaluate its condition. He found debris, failing insulation and floor lining, open vents and other problems in the crawl space. He then recommended the perfect repairs to the homeowner.
The owner was then eager for one of our crews to transform the crawl space. After the debris and other nuisances were removed, the crawl space was encapsulated in CrawlSeal liner. This thick and durable liner, similar to swimming pool liner, completely seals the crawl space to isolate it from the earth. CrawlSeal also acts as moisture and vapor barrier, and it helps insulate the crawl space.
Additionally, drainage matting was placed on the floor before the encapsulation project to enhance the durability of CrawlSeal. Vent covers also were placed on the home’s exterior to further seal the crawl space from outside air, water and pests.
The owner is pleased to now have a healthier crawl space and home because of this trustworthy repair solution.
