New homeowners were excited to move into a house they just purchased in Westerville, OH. As they began to make the home their own with personal touches, they discovered a problem near the basement. The partial crawl space adjacent to the basement was not properly sealed or insulated, there was debris on the gravel floor, and there was evidence of moisture and water intrusion.
The owners wanted to ensure the health of their living environment, so they began to research how to best address these issues. After learning about Ohio Basement Authority from a satisfied customer, the owners were eager to contact us for further guidance. They met with one of our inspectors who completed a thorough evaluation of the problematic crawl space. Our inspector then presented the owners with the perfect repair solutions.
After first removing the failing insulation, debris and other nuisances from the crawl space, one of our crews then installed waterproofing solutions to keep the crawl space dry. CrawlDrain was placed in the crawl space floor to catch seeping water. This water is then directed to a SafeDri sump pump to be pumped out of the home.
Drainage matting was placed on the crawl space floor to help direct seeping water to the perimeter CrawlDrain system, as well as enhance the durability of the encapsulation material. CrawlSeal liner was then used to encapsulate the crawl space and fully isolate this area from the earth.
ExTremeBloc insulation panels were placed on the walls, and spray foam insulation was applied to the band joists.
The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing the crawl space, as well as the rest of their home, is now a safer, healthier, and more functional area because of these trustworthy repair solutions.
