After recently purchasing and moving into their house, homeowners in Powell, OH, wanted to address some concerns with their living environment. They noticed two unhealthy and unsightly crawl spaces adjacent to the basement, and they wanted to rid their home of the mustiness and moisture problems they detected in these areas.
The owners found information about Ohio Basement Authority through online resources like Angie’s List, and they were eager to contact us for further guidance. One of our inspectors then completed a thorough evaluation of the problematic crawl spaces, and he recommended several reliable repairs to transform these areas.
One of our crews then took great care to remove the failing insulation and debris from the crawl spaces, and then these areas were encapsulated with CrawlSeal liner. This thick and durable liner completely seals the crawl spaces to isolate them from the earth. CrawlSeal also is a moisture and vapor barrier, and it helps insulate the crawl spaces. These areas were further insulated with ExTremeBloc panels that were placed on the walls, and spray foam that was applied to the band joists.
One crawl space also had a problem with leaking and standing water, so it was waterproofed with CrawlDrain and a SafeDri. A dehumidifier also was installed to help clean and filter the air, control moisture and humidity, and reduce odors and the potential for mold growth.
The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing these trustworthy solutions have helped them create a safer and healthier living environment that they will be able to enjoy for many years to come.
