After living in their house for seven years, homeowners in Delaware, OH, realized storage space was severely lacking. Many belongings were kept in the basement area, as well as a partial crawl space just off of the basement.
The crawl space, however, was not an ideal storage location. The insulation on the walls and liner on the floor was failing, and the area was full of debris. The owners wanted to properly address these issues, so they contacted Ohio Basement Authority after learning more about our company online.
One of our expert crawl space repair crews removed the debris and ineffective insulation, and then began to transform the crawl space into more functional area. Drainage matting was placed on the crawl space floor to add durability, puncture resistance, and a thermal break to the CrawlSeal liner. The crawl space was then encapsulated in CrawlSeal. This thick liner isolates the home from the earth, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, and automatically brightens the crawl space to enhance its appearance.
ExTremeBloc panels were installed on the walls of the crawl space, and spray foam was added to the rim joists. Along with CrawlSeal, these products help insulate the crawl space.
A SmartDrain was also installed to identify any potential plumbing leaks.
The owners were excited these permanent crawl space solutions were installed so their crawl space, as well as their home, will now be a healthier and more functional living environment for many more years to come.
