Winter is Sticking Around for Awhile
As temperatures continue to hover below freezing, the cold winter weather seems to have a tight grip on central Ohio. But there’s no reason to let your guard down, especially when it comes to keeping your home dry.
We Have the Solutions for Your Waterproofing Needs
Ohio Basement Authority installs a variety of permanent waterproofing solutions such as the BasementGutter Basement Waterproofing System and SafeDri Triple Sump Pump System. These products intercept any water intrusion and remove it from the basement through discharge lines.
Just as precipitation can freeze onto vehicles in the winter, discharge lines can freeze as they direct water out of and away from your home. They can also become blocked with or buried under snow and ice. If the water cannot get out, your basement will flood.
Ohio Basement Authority takes its waterproofing solutions one step further by installing the FreezeGuard Sump Pump Discharge Line System on the exterior of the home.
FreezeGuard Installation: How it Protects Your Home from the Outside
The FreezeGuard System is a specifically engineered fitting that automatically ejects the water away from the exterior wall if the pipe freezes. It is designed with perforations in it to allow this to happen, yet no water at all gets out of these openings when the pipe is not frozen. Once the discharge pipe thaws, the water will automatically run along its normal route and will not escape from the FreezeGuard.
How FreezeGuard is Protecting a Local Home
Homeowners in Westerville, previously experienced several issues including an overflowing sump pump, basement flooding, and a frozen discharge line. Along with installing the SafeDri Battery Back-Up System in the basement, Ohio Basement Authority also replaced the damaged discharge line with a new pipe fitted with IceGuard. Now the homeowners’ basement will be dry all the time!
