Concrete Repair With PolyRenewal®!

If you have a concrete sinking problem, we also offer concrete leveling so you can enjoy your driveway, sidewalk or patio again without worry. In the past, contractors relied upon mud jacking (also known as slab jacking, concrete lifting, concrete raising, grout pumping and slab leveling) to level concrete that had settled over time. This entailed pumping concrete slurry under the settled slab to raise it and hoping that the settlement wouldn't continue. At Ohio Basement Authority we use PolyRenewal® because it is a fast & efficient method to raise sinking concrete. This simple foam injection can stabilize your concrete slab for years to come!

Job Stories From Chillicothe, OH
Basement Waterproofing in Chillicothe, OH
Homeowners in Chillicothe, OH, were noticing water seeping into the basement through the older home's stone foundation walls. Concerned with potential damage and safety issues, the owners wanted to address these concerns before they got worse. They contacted Ohio Basement Authority, and one of our expert crews installed the sub-floor BasementGutter drainage system throughout the basement's perimeter. If any water seeps into the basement, the BasementGutter will intercept it and drain it to a SafeDri Prox sump pump. The water will then be drained out of and away from the home through new sump pump discharge lines and downspout lines. The downspout lines were buried underground and led out to the street. The interior walls were also parged and wired. The crew installed a wire membrane around the interior walls, and parge coated the wire with concrete. This will seal the walls from years of water seepage, as well as wear and tear. Four glass block windows with vents were also installed to replace the existing windows that were damaged or not functioning properly. The homeowners are pleased to have a basement that will remain safe and dry for years to come!

Cracking, Bowing Foundation Walls Corrected by Wall Anchors in Chillicothe, OH
Homeowners in Chillicothe, OH, have started to think about selling the home. Cracking and bowing in a couple of the foundation walls was getting worse over time, and the owners were concerned these issues would affect their home's value and the ability to sell the house. The owners contacted Ohio Basement Authority, and we installed two types of wall anchors. Five Wall Anchors were installed on the east foundation wall, and 10 Channel Anchors were installed on the north foundation wall. Both of these products permanently stabilize the problematic foundation walls, prevent further cracking and inward bowing, and offer the best opportunity to straighten the walls. One of our expert crews installed the CrawlDrain Crawl Space Drainage System throughout the crawl space perimeter. This system will drain any seeping water into a SafeDri sump pump, which will pump it out of and away from the home. Sump pump discharge lines were installed, and a FreezeGuard was installed on the exterior line. He contacted Ohio Basement Authority after seeing one of our TV ads, and we permanently waterproofed the leaking crawl space. Many crawl spaces have dirt or gravel floors, but this 18-year-old home’s crawl space had a concrete floor. We used our reliable waterproofing products including BasementGutter and SafeDri Sump. Mitigating Radon For a Healthier Home in Chillicothe, OH
Homeowners in Chillicothe, OH, have lived in their house since it was built four years ago. Recently, however, they began to seriously question the health and safety of their home. They wondered if radon was present and affecting their quality of life. Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas produced by the decay of uranium in rocks and soil. It is colorless, odorless and tasteless, as well as extremely hazardous. Radon is a leading cause of lung cancer, and it has been linked to more than 20,000 annual deaths. These factors greatly concerned the homeowners, and they wanted to address the issue as soon as possible. After having their home tested for radon, they were surprised to learn that the home’s radon levels were above 4 picocuries per liter (pCi/L). The latter is the level at which the Environmental Protection Agency recommends mitigating radon, and the owners wanted to make sure the home’s levels were well below that. After finding information online about Ohio Basement Authority, the owners were eager to contact us for further guidance. They met with one of our inspectors who reviewed the radon test results with them, as well as our company’s mitigation procedures. One of our crews then installed a radon mitigation system to draw radon from the house and lower the home’s levels as much as possible. The owners are happy this reliable installation project was completed to ensure the health and safety of their home.
Radon Mitigation in Chillicothe, OH
They have lived in their house for only a few months, but homeowners in Chillicothe, OH, were concerned with the health of their new home. They wondered if radon could be affecting their living environment. Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that is produced by the decay of uranium in rocks and soil. It is colorless, odorless and tasteless, making it virtually impossible to detect without the proper testing. Radon also is a health hazard. Exposure to this gas has been linked to more than 20,000 annual deaths, and it is the second leading cause of lung cancer. All of these factors concerned the homeowners, so they had their home tested for radon. They were shocked when the results indicated their home’s radon level was 28 picocuries per liter (pCi/L). This is seven times higher than the level at which the Environmental Protection Agency recommends mitigating radon, which is 4 pCi/L. After learning more about Ohio Basement Authority through online resources like Home Advisor, the homeowners were eager to contact us for assistance with creating a healthier home. We installed a radon mitigation system in their home by creating a suction point in the basement’s concrete slab floor to draw the radon out of the home. Pipes were connected to this suction point and directed to the home’s exterior. The pipes also were attached to an external ventilation fan, and additional pipes were installed past the roof to safely expel radon from the house. The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing this reliable installation project has helped them create a healthier living environment that they will be able to enjoy for many years to come.

My wife and I live in a small home(768sq.ft) with a concrete slab as the flooring. Which, unfortunately, was not installed correctly by the previous owners. We have numerous large cracks running in different directions in every room. We tried our best to correct what we could, but are not sure what to do at this point. The cracks are very noticeable. If you could take a look at our floor perhaps you can educate us on what to do. We are in the early stages of renovation here, but unless the floor can be corrected ,I see no need to continue.

I’ve seen Ohio Basement Authority’s television ads, and I chose to work with you because I looked at the reviews online and they seemed very favorable.

Francis was extremely patient and answered all our questions. He was very attentive to my parents who are the homeowners. Heather also was extremely friendly and courteous.

The installation crew – Ryan, Jamey, and Nate – were extremely hard-working. They were very courteous and took great are to be as neat as possible in their work and their cleanup. They were extremely patient in answering questions and explaining the process.

We are extremely pleased with the entire process – from the representative who initially came out, to the installation crew, to the administrative people we had contact with.

I’ve seen your commercials during the Channel 10 newscasts. Also, I saw Ohio Basement Authority on the radon test results as a vendor for radon mitigation.

Jacob did our inspection and was professional and friendly, and all of the crews surpassed our expectations.

All three crews – Jose for waterproofing, David for radon, and the foreman for egress – called an hour or so before arrival to tell us they were on the way, and showed up as stated. They all were courteous and told us what they would be doing, and continued to ask us if we had any questions. They all did as much as they could to keep things clean.

I have a house that was built in 1951. I purchased it in 2014 & since 2016, I have used it as a rental. I only experienced water in the basement twice & it was minimal. It is occurring more frequently & more water is coming in. The point of entry is where the wall meets the floor.
