Concrete Repair With PolyRenewal®!

If you have a concrete sinking problem, we also offer concrete leveling so you can enjoy your driveway, sidewalk or patio again without worry. In the past, contractors relied upon mud jacking (also known as slab jacking, concrete lifting, concrete raising, grout pumping and slab leveling) to level concrete that had settled over time. This entailed pumping concrete slurry under the settled slab to raise it and hoping that the settlement wouldn't continue. At Ohio Basement Authority we use PolyRenewal® because it is a fast & efficient method to raise sinking concrete. This simple foam injection can stabilize your concrete slab for years to come!

Homeowners Waterproofed Before Finishing in Hilliard, OH

When homeowners in Hilliard, OH decided to finish the basement in the house they built in 1990, they knew waterproofing was the first step. They had never had serious water issues, except when a tree root grew through the downspout conductor line. This was replaced, but the homeowner was worried the same tree may have been causing more problems, or would in the future.

While there was no standing or running water, they did experience a lot of moisture in the basement. Because of this, the homeowners agreed to go with our inspector’s waterproofing recommendations.

The installation crew first added SafeDri to the existing sump pump system. SafeDri is a battery backup that continues to pump water out of the house even if the sump pump fails due to an electricity outage or any other reason.

They also attached FreezeGuard to the sump pump discharge line. This ensures that water can escape from the basement even if the pipe freezes or is blocked for any reason.

Then, they installed BasementGutter. This is an interior drainage system engineered to carry all water out of the basement without worry of it becoming clogged from soil under the floor. It has holes on all sides to collect water from any direction, and has a special flange on top which accepts water that may run down the walls.

Next, the crew placed CrawlSeal Liner around the crawl space and foundation walls. This will act as a moisture barrier that will allow the homeowners to finish the basement. It is made out of a thick material similar to a pool liner, and is designed to keep outside elements out of the basement.

Finally, a new polyethylene pipe was set up to ensure no more leaks will occur from conductor line damage.

The homeowners can now finish their basement knowing that these reliable waterproofing systems will keep their space dry and healthy.

We installed this durable plastic crawl space access well on the home’s exterior. The homeowners are now pleased to have a larger and more secure access point to their crawl space.
SafeDri Sump Pump Upgrade will Keep a Flooding Basement Dry in Hilliard, OH
Homeowners in Hilliard, OH, have lived in their house since it was built almost 20 years ago. They’ve never had any major problems until recently when their sump pump failed and caused the basement to flood. They wanted to make sure they would have a reliable waterproofing system that would always keep their basement dry, so they contacted Ohio Basement Authority after learning about our many waterproofing services through our website. They originally intended to simply just replace the pump in their sump pump system, but our inspector educated them on the many features of the SafeDri Battery Back-up System. The homeowners were eager for us to upgrade their older, corroding sump pump system with the more reliable SafeDri. The SafeDri features a powerful 1/3 hp cast iron pump with a metal float switch inside the heavy-duty polyethylene liner. It also is equipped with a DC pump, charging system and battery, and will automatically turn on if the primary pump fails to operate. The SafeDri can pump out more than 11,000 gallons of water on a new, fully-charged battery. The back-up battery also enables the system to continue to operate even in the event of a power outage. The owners now have peace of mind knowing this trustworthy system has helped them create a healthier and safer living environment.
Wall Anchors Permanently Stabilize a Cracking Foundation Wall in Hilliard, OH
Homeowners in Hilliard, OH, are trying to sell their house, but they are finding it is difficult to do because of the various cracks in one of their foundation walls. Horizontal and stair-step cracking patterns, like the ones in their wall, are typical signs of wall failure. It is important to address these issues as soon as they are visible, because they will only become more dangerous and costly to repair in the long-run. Hoping to remedy these problems once and for all, the owners contacted Ohio Basement Authority after learning more about our company online. We then installed five Wall Anchors on the problematic foundation wall. These anchors are made out of heavy-duty, galvanized steel. Not only do they permanently stabilize the foundation wall, they offer the best opportunity to straighten it. The owners now have peace of mind knowing the home will be a safe and stable living environment for many years to come.
Water line repair in Hilliard, OH

After a homeowner in Hilliard, OH, noticed a water line break at his house along with a constantly running sump pump, he contacted Ohio Basement Authority for assistance. Our inspector was able to quickly visit the customer to assess the situation, and our crew repaired the water line shortly after that. The homeowner is happy to have a repaired water line.

A customer contacted me regarding a basement wall inspection that required several W4x13 steel support beams installed. He sent me a sketch of what he wants and I wanted to see if this design would do the job. I would be hiring the contractor for him and they would work thru me since I do most of his home improvements. He is an engineer and feels that this would be the easiest and less expensive alternative from what he has examined. Basically the walls are less than an inch out. He feels this options should do the job.

It appears that water has been leaking through the foundation for some time. I had carpet and too much stuff in the basement and didn't notice. We had to remove all the carpet this past weekend. Many of the boxes absorbed the water. The walls are clearly damaged and there are dark spots on the floors and walls. Not sure what that is. I assume it is a foundation issue as the major area was at the opposite side of the basement from the sump pump. Please give me a call to schedule a time to look at the basement. Early morning or late in the day preferred. Thanks! Tina

Your company was recommended by a friend, and I liked your solution to fix my problem the best. And you gave the best price. The office staff was courteous and helpful, and the inspector was very polite and professional. He was very easy to work with throughout the whole process.

The installation crew called ahead to give me an hour's notice of when they would arrive, which allowed me plenty of time to get home from work. They were also very polite and thoroughly answered all my questions during the repair process. The crew did a great job cleaning up. They put plastic from the basement to the garage to protect my floors.

I am very pleased I selected your company. The crew did really good work and exceeded my expectations on the finished product. They paid very close attention to detail, which is something I appreciate.

We found Ohio Basement Authority on the web when looking for vendors that repair basements. We set up a date and time for a free estimate with the office, and shortly after had a call from our inspector introducing himself. His presentation met our expectations, and we chose to work with the company because of the product to be installed and the cost. The installation crew arrived at the set time, and Milton introduced himself and all of his crew, Dan and Salvador. They placed covering on the floor to prevent damage and cleaned up everything when done. We had one minor bump in the process, but it was handled quickly and to our satisfaction.

They encouraged me to ask any questions about anything being done, as well as watch the installation if I wanted to. They were very complete in what they did, and the clean-up was absolutely satisfactory! Great job by the inspector and the crew!

My husband and I heard about Ohio Basement Authority from several sources: TV, home and garden shows, and Angie's List. The company reviews were positive, and the website was informative, so that led us to select this company. We were very happy with the experience. Our inspector was prompt with emails to provide cost info and answers to questions, and the crew was prompt and courteous.

I found Ohio Basement Authority in online searches regarding basement products. The website was informative, and after meeting with the sales rep, Jeff Floit, I had a good comfort level.

Everyone was courteous and professional, and the install team was great. Very easy to work with.

The representative you sent out was a nice guy. He was good on the tech side and overall, he did a nice job of representing the company. I was very pleased with the crew. They did good work, and they were friendly and courteous, respectful of our property, and incredibly hard-working. I am impressed with the solution and expect it to solve the problems as promised. The purchase process and installation process were both friendly and professional. Five stars.

The representative you sent out was very friendly and informative. I felt like he explained things in a way I could understand, and easily answered my questions.

I was impressed that the installation crew actually arrived a few minutes early and got to work right away. They also were very nice and kept me up-to-date on their progress throughout the day. My home looks much better than it did before!

If someone I know has a problem, I will definitely recommend Ohio Basement Authority.

The inspector was very informative, and willing to meet with me a second time on short notice. I chose Ohio Basement Authority because of our realtor, and because the inspector was informative.

The crew was very polite and respectful of the property. Aside from the work they did, we didn't know they were here.

I have a couple of different concerns. First is that I need a small basement casement window repaired. It was broken when a tree was removed. The second is to get an estimate of remodeling our crawl space to make it more usable and energy efficient. This could include encapsulating, insulating, etc. The third is to get an estimate and ideas on egress window installation.

Restricted flow from sump to curb causing backflow at downspout.

We have water intrusion and rot in the basement below our front door threshold. It appears the steps have settled and caused water to pool against the foundation causing the damage.

Originally thought we had a bad sill plate that was letting water leak through. Now appears to be some shifting of the basement walls.

We would like to add 1 to 2 egress windows in our, currently, unfinished basement. We are planning to add a bedroom, bathroom and family living area in that space, but would like to have egress windows down there.

In contract to sell my condo and the prospective buyer ordered a radon test. Test results showed elevated radon levels (~7, average over three days). Prospective buyer needs remediation to proceed with purchase.

Some water weeping in walls due mostly to a poor exterior drainage system. Looking to improve drainage and also upgrade crawlspace.

Thanks! Tina
