Concrete Repair With PolyRenewal®!

If you have a concrete sinking problem, we also offer concrete leveling so you can enjoy your driveway, sidewalk or patio again without worry. In the past, contractors relied upon mud jacking (also known as slab jacking, concrete lifting, concrete raising, grout pumping and slab leveling) to level concrete that had settled over time. This entailed pumping concrete slurry under the settled slab to raise it and hoping that the settlement wouldn't continue. At Ohio Basement Authority we use PolyRenewal® because it is a fast & efficient method to raise sinking concrete. This simple foam injection can stabilize your concrete slab for years to come!

Multiple Repair Projects Create a Healthier Longtime Home in Lancaster, OH
Eager to purchase a particular house, an interested home buyer in Lancaster, OH, wanted to ensure the home’s health and safety. He noticed various issues in the basement including cracking and bowing foundation walls and issues with water. He contacted Ohio Basement Authority after learning more about our company online, and we helped him address multiple repair issues with the best permanent solutions. To prevent seeping water from saturating the floor and resulting in damage, we installed some of our reliable basement waterproofing products. These included the sub-floor BasementGutter interior drainage system to intercept any seeping water. The existing sump pump system was replaced and upgraded with the installation of the SafeDri Super sump and SafeDri sump pump systems in the vast basement. FreezeGuards were attached to the exterior sump pump discharge lines, as well. The foundation repair project involved installing many structural steel support beams to permanently reinforce the problematic foundation walls and prevent further cracking and bowing. The potential owner also was concerned with the presence of hazardous radon gas, so we installed a radon mitigation system to pull radon out of the home and safely and effectively ventilate it outside. The excited home buyer was happy these many reliable products were installed so his longtime home will be a safer and healthier living environment.
Radon Mitigation and Crawl Space Encapsulation in Lancaster, OH
Homeowners in Lancaster, OH, have lived in their house since it was built several years ago. They recently began to think about the health of their home, and they wanted to address any radon in the house. Radon is a naturally occurring, radioactive gas produced by uranium decay in rocks and soil. It is colorless, odorless, tasteless, and very dangerous. Exposure to radon is a leading cause of lung cancer, and it has been linked to more than 20,000 annual deaths. After having their home tested for radon, the owners were surprised to learn that their home’s radon level was 14 picocuries per liter (pCi/L). This is more than three times higher than the Environmental Protection Agency’s radon action level of 4 pCi/L. The owners then found information online about Ohio Basement Authority and our radon services, and they were eager to contact us for further guidance. They met with one of our inspectors who reviewed the radon test results with them and helped them draw up plans for a mitigation system installation. One of our crews then installed a radon mitigation system in the home and another secondary living area on the property to lower the radon levels as much as possible. The crawl space in the main structure also was encapsulated in CrawlSeal liner to improve the health and appearance of this area and prevent radon intrusion. The homeowners are pleased to have a safer and healthier living environment because of these reliable repairs.
Basement Waterproofing with BasementGutter and SafeDri Triple in Lancaster, OH
Homeowners in Lancaster, OH, recently moved into their new house, and they've experienced severe flooding following heavy rains and winter thaw. They contacted Ohio Basement Authority to help get their basement safe and dry again. One of our expert crews installed the sub-floor BasementGutter Basement Waterproofing drainage system to intercept any seeping water and drain it to a SafeDri Triple Sump Pump. The SafeDri, which has three pumps as well as a battery-back up, pumps the water out of and away from the home through new discharge lines. Two FreezeGuards were also attached to two of the exterior discharge lines to prevent flooding if the lines freeze or become blocked. The homeowners are happy to now have a basement living area that will be kept dry all the time.
Carbon Fiber Supports Reinforce a Cracking Foundation Wall in Lancaster, OH
Homeowners in Lancaster, OH, are putting their house on the market, and they wanted to address any issues that might negatively impact its value and sale. After removing drywall from one of the foundation walls, the owners noticed various cracks. They wanted to repair these right away, so they contacted Ohio Basement Authority. We then installed one of our many reliable foundation repair products. Six Carbon Fiber wall supports were installed to permanently stabilize the problematic foundation wall. These sturdy supports prevent further cracking and inward bowing, and are easy to conceal with paint, drywall or paneling. The owners were pleased this permanent solution was installed so the home will be a stable living environment for many years to come.
CrawlSeal Encapsulations Create Healthier, Functional Crawl Spaces in Lancaster, OH
A homeowner in Lancaster, OH, has been using the two crawl space areas under her house for storage. More recently, she noticed these areas were cold because of failing insulation. They also had debris, open vents, and issues with moisture. She wanted to make sure the crawl spaces would be healthy, insulated areas, so she contacted Ohio Basement Authority after seeing one of our TV ads. We transformed the crawl spaces by encapsulating them in durable CrawlSeal liner. Not only does this thick liner prevent vapor and moisture intrusion, it completely seals the home from the earth and helps insulate the crawl spaces. It also brightens the crawl spaces and is tough enough to crawl on. Additional insulation measures included the installation of panels on the crawl space floors underneath the CrawlSeal, and ExTremeBloc panels on the walls. Spray foam insulation also was applied to the rim joists for added insulation and protection. A dehumidifier was installed in one of the crawl spaces to prevent mold, reduce odors, control moisture, and clean and purify the air. Exterior vent covers also were installed outside the home to seal the crawl space from outside air, precipitation and pests. The owner is happy she now has healthier and more functional crawl spaces because of these permanent solutions.
Crack Repair in Lancaster, OH, Will Keep the Basement Dry

Homeowners in Lancaster, OH, have lived in their house for more than 20 years, and they recently began noticing vertical cracks in one of their foundation walls. There was also some water intrusion through one of the basement windows.

The owners contacted Ohio Basement Authority, and one of our expert crews repaired the cracks by placing sturdy Carbon Fiber supports on the problematic wall to seal and stabilize the area.

The leaking window was also removed, and the homeowners chose to have it filled with concrete block and mortar to prevent water from seeping into the basement.

The homeowners are happy this installation will now help keep their basement dry.

Crawl Space Encapsulation and Waterproofing Enhances the Resale Value of a Home in Lancaster, OH
It can be difficult to sell a home with any kind of problems, whether there is water in the basement, cracks in the walls, or a nasty crawl space underneath the house. The latter was the case for homeowners in Lancaster, OH, who were ready to sell their house after living there for almost 30 years. The owners rarely went into the crawl space, so they were concerned when a home inspector pointed out issues like puddling water and failing insulation. The owners then contacted Ohio Basement Authority to find a permanent solution. We installed some of our reliable crawl space repair products that completely transformed the formerly unhealthy area. These included waterproofing products like the CrawlDrain drainage system and a SafeDri Pro sump pump. These were also installed in conjunction with the CrawlSeal encapsulation system that isolates the crawl space from the earth. A FreezeGuard was attached to the exterior sump pump discharge line, and a durable door was added as a more secure crawl space access point. The owners are happy these permanent solutions enhanced the home’s resale value and created a healthier living environment for the next owners.
Crawl Space Insulated With CrawlSeal and ExTremeBloc in Lancaster, OH
After 20 years of living in their house, homeowners in Lancaster, OH, had had enough of cold floors and high heating bills. Even though they rarely went into their crawl space, the effects of lacking insulation could be felt through the home. One of Ohio Basement Authority's crews removed debris from the area and re-graded the crawl space floor. Drainage matting was placed on the floor, and the entire area was encapsulated with CrawlSeal liner. ExTremeBloc panels were installed on the walls, and vent covers were installed on the exterior. All of these products are permanent solutions to the homeowners' crawl space problems, and meet their goal of saving energy.
Egress Window Installation in Lancaster, OH
After living in his house for several years, a homeowner in Christiansburg, OH, decided he wanted to start using his basement as livable space. However, some improvements needed to be completed before doing so. According to the International Code for One-and Two-Family Dwellings, all habitable spaces, including basements, are required to have at least one operational emergency escape or means of egress. The homeowner contacted Ohio Basement Authority after hearing about our company through local home inspectors. After meeting with one of our inspectors, the owner was eager for us to upgrade one of the older windows into a functional egress window. After removing the smaller basement window and excavating the area outside the window, one of our expert crews carefully cut into the block foundation wall to make room for the newer, bigger window. The new window’s all-vinyl frame is rust-resistant, and its double-pane glass is energy-efficient. A lightly-colored window well was installed outside the window, which allows more natural light into the basement. A durable clear cover was attached to the well to enhance safety as well as keep leaves, debris and precipitation out of the window well. The homeowner is happy to have an updated basement window system that enhances the safety and appearance of his home.
Exterior Drainage Upgrades in Lancaster, OH

Not long after moving into her house, a new homeowner in Lancaster, OH, noticed water leaking into various corners. Downspout conductor lines also happened to be in these corners outside the foundation walls.

Hoping to nip this problem in the bud, the owner started to research repair options. She contacted Ohio Basement Authority after finding information about our company online. She then met with one of our inspectors who evaluated the condition of the exterior drainage system. Our inspector then recommended updating these lines on the property.

One of our crews then replaced the older, failing lines with new, thicker pipe used for the downspout conductor lines. These lines were placed in the ground and directed far enough away from the house. YardWell outlets also were used to conceal the ends of the lines in the yard.

The homeowner is pleased to now have an updated exterior drainage system to help keep her home dry.

Foundation Repair and Basement Waterproofing Projects in Lancaster, OH
Upon purchasing her home, a homebuyer interested in a 40-year-old house in Lancaster, OH, wanted to make sure the dwelling would be dry and structurally sound. She noticed some issues including cracks and slight tilting in the foundation walls, as well as evidence of water intrusion. The new owner knew she could count on Ohio Basement Authority for the perfect solutions. She met with one of our inspectors who evaluated the condition of the home. Our inspector then presented the owner with some of our reliable foundation repair and basement waterproofing solutions. One of our crews then stabilized the walls with several Carbon Fiber supports and waterproofed the basement with BasementGutter, SafeDri Triple sump and exterior FreezeGuard attachments. Carbon Fiber supports were placed on the walls throughout the basement. These heavy-duty supports firmly adhere to the walls to stabilize them in their current positions and prevent any further cracking or bowing. BasementGutter was placed in the sub-floor to catch any seeping water from the walls and floor. This water is then directed to the SafeDri Triple sump pump to be pumped out of the basement. FreezeGuards were attached to the exterior sump pump discharge lines to prevent flooding from frozen or blocked lines. The new homeowner is pleased these trustworthy repairs were completed to ensure the health and safety of her living environment.
Foundation Repair Projects Stabilize Failing Walls in Lancaster, OH
After a man’s mother passed away, he took on the responsibility of selling her house in Lancaster, OH. In an effort to spruce up the home, the man discovered some glaring structural issues. The walls were severely cracking and tilting inward, which not only affected the home’s structural integrity, but its resale value as well. After a structural engineer referred the man to Ohio Basement Authority, he was eager to contact us to learn more about how we could help him. He met with one of our inspectors, who evaluated condition of the walls and then presented him with several foundation repair options. One of our crews first dug down to the footing outside of the walls in severe disrepair, and these walls were then pushed back to as level and plumb as possible. The walls were further protected on the inside by installing Carbon Fiber supports and IntelliBrace beams. Both solutions reinforce the walls and prevent them from any future cracking or bowing. IntelliBrace beams offer the ability to straighten and improve the walls where they were installed, and the Carbon Fiber hold the other walls in their current positions. The man now has peace of mind knowing these reliable repairs have helped ensure the home’s resale value, as well as its structural stability for the next owners.
Foundation Stabilization with Push Piers and Carbon Fiber Supports in Lancaster, OH
During the few years that they have lived in their house, homeowners in Lancaster, OH, noticed some issues were getting worse. A few areas of the foundation walls had cracks and gaps, as well as signs of tilting and movement. The owners were concerned these problems could turn into safety and structural stability hazards, and they were motivated to address the issues once and for all. After seeing Ohio Basement Authority’s TV ads, they were eager to contact us to learn more about how we could help them. They met with one of our inspectors who evaluated the condition of the problematic walls. Our inspector then recommended some of our reliable foundation repair solutions. Several Push Piers were installed underneath the more severely cracking and settling wall. These heavy-duty, galvanized steel piers are driven deep into the soil to permanently stabilize the foundation and offer the best opportunity to lift it back to level. Several Carbon Fiber supports also were placed on the less severely cracking wall. These durable supports firmly adhere to the wall to permanently stabilize it and hold it in its current position. These supports also protect the wall from any further cracking or inward bowing. The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing these trustworthy repairs have helped them create a safer living environment.
Helical Piers Permanently Stabilize a Leaning Chimney in Lancaster, OH
During the last year, a homeowner in Lancaster, OH, made sure he was closely monitoring his home’s chimney that was beginning to tilt and separate from the rest of the structure. He was concerned this structural issue could result in serious damage. A tilting chimney is one of the more dramatic signs of foundation settlement. Chimneys are sometimes built on a foundation that is not connected to the rest of the home, making it even more at risk for settlement. The homeowner contacted Ohio Basement Authority, and we installed one of our many types of reliable foundation repair solutions. Two Helical Piers were installed underneath the chimney’s foundation to permanently stabilize it. These heavy-duty galvanized steel piers also can lift the chimney back to its original level. The homeowner now has peace of mind knowing this permanent repair solution has created a safe and structurally sound living environment.
New Sump Pump and Downspout Conductor Lines will Keep a Home Dry in Lancaster, OH
After living in their house for a few years, homeowners in Lancaster, OH, wanted to upgrade their interior and exterior waterproofing systems. They specifically wanted a more reliable sump pump system, and they started to research how to address this issue. The owners came across Ohio Basement Authority’s website, and they were eager to contact us for more information about how we could help them. After meeting with one of our inspectors, the owners were equally excited for one of our crews to install a newer, trustworthy sump pump system and exterior drainage system. We removed the existing sump pump and installed the SafeDri Triple sump pump system. The SafeDri Triple is equipped with three powerful pumps inside the sump liner, as well as an external backup battery. This ensures the system will always operate to pump seeping water out of the basement. We also installed newer, thicker downspout conductor lines on the property that were placed in the ground. The homeowners are happy to have more reliable systems inside and outside their house to keep their home dry.
Permanent Waterproofing Solutions Will Keep a Leaking Basement Dry in Lancaster, OH
After living for many years in a home with a leaking basement, a homeowner in Lancaster, OH, was ready to address the problem once and for all. She noticed water seeping into the basement whenever it rained, collecting in puddles throughout the basement. She contacted Ohio Basement Authority after learning more about our basement waterproofing services online, and we installed the best permanent solutions to meet her repair needs. The water seemed to seep into the basement through a walk-out entrance, as well as where the walls and floor meet. We installed the BasementGutter interior drainage system around the basement’s perimeter to intercept this water. A section of grated drainage pipe was installed in front of the doorway and tied into the rest of the BasementGutter system. This water is then directed to the reliable SafeDri sump pump, and pumped out of the basement and away from the home through a discharge line. A FreezeGuard also was attached to the exterior sump pump discharge line. Another source of the seeping water could have been through cracks in the foundation walls, so we reinforced these walls with one of our many reliable foundation repair products. Several Carbon Fiber wall supports were installed to permanently stabilize these walls and prevent any future cracking or inward bowing. The owner was pleased to have these many reliable products installed so her home will be a safe and dry living environment for many years to come.

Several Push Piers were installed underneath the settling sections of the foundation walls. These heavy-duty, galvanized steel piers permanently stabilize the problematic foundation walls. They also offer the best opportunity to lift the foundation back to level.

They then met with one of our inspectors who assessed the condition of the floors, as well as the support system in the crawl space under the house. Several floor joists were failing to properly support the above floors, so our inspector recommended one type of our many reliable foundation repair solutions. One of our crews then installed several IntelliJacks in the crawl space. These heavy-duty supports are made of galvanized steel, which enhances their durability and makes them resistant to rust, corrosion and rot. IntelliJacks permanently stabilize the above floors and offer the best opportunity to lift them back to level. They are designed to stop settlement, but can easily be adjusted if any settling occurs. After recently purchasing a house, a homeowner in Lancaster, OH, noticed some problems in the basement. There was evidence of water intrusion, as well as some cracking along the foundation walls. He knew he could count on Ohio Basement Authority for the right repairs, as he previously chose to work with our company on a sewer line repair project. Any seeping water from the walls and floor will be intercepted by the sub-floor BasementGutter system and directed to drain into the SafeDri sump pump. The SafeDri then pumps this water out of the basement and away from the home. A FreezeGuard was attached to the exterior discharge line, and this line was tied into a new downspout conductor line that was directed to the curb in front of the home. There’s no doubt that Corey was part of our decision to work with Ohio Basement Authority. Corey was very professional and knew his product from A to Z. The BBB was also part of our choice, as well as the overall plan as to what was needed and how it would be done.

The crew was great. Each member introduced themselves and shook hands as soon as they arrived. They were friendly, and each knew their job very well. They even were really good with our canine friends who are always in the way.

I’m a retired Whitehall police chief, having served 37 years primarily in supervision and management, and 16 years as chief.

I learned fairly quickly just how important public relations is. I also learned that people are far more likely to complain about an employee than take the time or put forward the effort to compliment them.

I’ve made it a habit to take the time to compliment exemplary conduct, as well as inferior. I’ve always adhered to the Golden Rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

I can assure you that the inspector I met with embodies the essential characteristics of a model employee/representative. He was punctual and polite, respectful and courteous. He was and is very knowledgeable and informative. He was not pushy. I can’t think of one negative.

I have a high opinion of your company because of my contact with your inspector. I have no doubt he will excel in any assignment he is given. He has much potential.

My compliments for recruiting someone with the potential and demonstrated ability.

Sincerely,

James S.

I’ve seen Ohio Basement Authority’s TV ads, and I chose to work with the company because they had the best price and the best sales presentation.

I waited to respond to any questionnaires to see if heavy rains would cause any basement water to appear. No water!

I chose to work with Ohio Basement Authority because of a recommendation by a friend who had foundation work done by your company.

I met with Corey. You are very fortunate to have such a knowledgeable and courteous representative. He explained the process, equipment, and uniqueness of the basement water control system with admirable clarity and patience for any questions I had.

The installation crew was extraordinarily courteous and thoughtful. They worked so smoothly together, and it was impressive to observe. Jose, the foreman, went over the project very carefully with me so as to make sure we were both on the same page and I knew exactly what the sequence of work would be. Ohio Basement Authority can take great pride in the performance of this installation crew. Wow! They are good, good, good.

I'm impressed by the staff of Ohio Basement Authority, the quality of their work, and my interaction with Corey and Jose and his crew. If only other companies could match your product and staff.

I called two local companies and they did not return my call. Then I called Ohio Basement Authority. Not only did Jacob come over to the house with my first concern, he and Jeff came over the next day when I discovered my crumbling wall.

I was told to have the hot water heater moved prior to the installation. The crew leader hooked it back up for me as a courtesy. He felt that I should not be without hot water. The crew also placed plastic on my floor to avoid tracking dust. One crew member also swept the floor after installation. Not one speck of dirt was on the floor.

I have spoken highly of my experience to my co-workers and family.

I chose to work with Ohio Basement Authority because of the literature and the presentation of your inspector. The presentation was very well done, and the literature was great. It gave me an understanding of some information I did not know before. Very professional!

The office staff also was very helpful and courteous. They acted like they enjoyed their jobs, unlike a lot of others I’ve had experience with.

The crew was very courteous and helpful. They had very good manners and knew how to work. They worked well as a team.

I chose to work with Ohio Basement Authority because of Joe who did the inspection, and because of the reviews on Angie’s List.

I felt at ease with Joe and didn’t feel like I was pressured to buy. I had many questions even after he left, and he always answered them all.

I chose to work with the company because of John, the inspector I met with, and because of his complete understanding of our problems. He was courteous, thorough, and very professional. He explained everything completely at my level so I could understand. The crew also was extremely courteous and very professional. I received a confirmation phone call with the expected time of their arrival the day of service. They even cleaned the basement sliding door window. They swept the driveway of all debris, and I have a long driveway. As I told the crew who did the new drainage tile, the basement crew set an extremely high bar. And yes, they also hit the same high standard. I will definitely recommend your services to all my friends. All team members worked very hard every minute and did amazing work. This job was not easy.

Ohio Basement Authority seemed very reputable, and we thought the price was below what we originally thought it would be. You also pursued us for a year before we made a decision to have you come out. The inspector we met with was very personable and understandable.

The foreman and his boys worked very hard. They did a great job and we are happy with the results. We are looking forward to a dry basement!

I looked online, and your website, along with others, came up.

The company representative I first met with was very professional and knowledgeable, and did a very informative presentation, answering all my questions.

I had already scheduled a job when I discovered that a rental unit that I am building and the dirt under it had settled. The floor was basically hanging in midair. I contacted my inspector, and he made sure the office got in touch with me. You found an open spot and scheduled both jobs the same day.

The installation crew was very prompt, went right to work, and was very professional and courteous. Mike explained everything he was doing, and never left me uncomfortable at any time. You need to hang onto this employee and his trainee!

The clean-up was also very thorough. They even cleaned up my mess, along with theirs.

I am very satisfied with every aspect of your operation – from the very first inspection to the last piece of dirt swept from my floor. I would and will recommend your service and product highly to friends and other customers.

Your representative was very thorough and answered my questions both when he was here and later when I had additional questions. His presentation and willingness to work with me sold me on the job.

The crew called and told me when they would be here. But with the extreme cold and snow I asked them just to take their time and be careful. I think they may have been five minutes late, but it was sooner than expected in those conditions. They were extremely courteous and the work was very, very satisfactory.

I really liked the design of the flangeless waterproofing system, as well as the price. Your estimate was more than $1,000 under the next closest estimate I received.

The crew was nice and courteous. They did not mind me looking around and seeing how progress was going. They answered any questions that I had and took the time to explain things. The clean-up that was done was just fine. They did not leave any large messes for me to clean up.

I chose Ohio Basement Authority because they had the sump drainage system and professional installation I was looking for.

The installation crew was on time and gave me a courtesy call before arriving. They were informative, and they entertained my need to test the backup pump after installation. It worked fine, and it put my concerns at rest.

It was a professional looking installation. I can't believe how quiet the pump motor is.

Everyone with the office was so friendly and courteous.

Danny Pease was great and answered all of my questions. His presentation was thorough and interesting. I picked your company because of his professionalism.

The installation crew was very courteous, and the area where they worked was cleaner after they left than when they started.

The difference, specifically in the rooms above the crawl space, is night and day improved and warmer. And it smells so much better.

I chose to work with this company because of the inspector's knowledge of the products and what needed to be done to correct the situation. He didn't use any high-pressure sales or try to sell more than necessary. He also offered competitive pricing.

My wife and I recently had put an offer on a house 840 n broad st. The house was built pre 1900 but its had basement repairs in the past to fix water issues which they did but the windows leak still so the block is spauling and disintegrating. We've have a structural engineer look at it said one wall is moved in an inch. There's more to it but just to give you and idea of what's going on. We really like this house and was wonder what it would take to get it right. Thanks again-Jacob
