|Why Choose Us?
A homeowner in Waldo, OH was upset when the sun room of the home she had built in 2000 was beginning to sink. The windows were sticking and the floor was sloping downward. Her sons were concerned about her safety as she lived alone.
One of our certified inspectors, John Becker Sr., visited the home to determine the appropriate steps to repair it.
He suggested using PolyRenewal to permanently lift and level the concrete floor of the sun room. PolyRenewal is system through which a polymer substance is injected through small holes drilled into a concrete slab. The liquid then expands to fill the voids under the slab. The curing time is remarkably fast, and the concrete is ready to walk on in about 15 minutes.
The homeowner is very happy with the results, and her sons are no longer worried about an accident occurring due to unlevel floors or faulty windows.
Homeowners in Prospect, OH, have lived in their house since it was built more than 20 years ago. Recently, however, they began to notice problems with water and drainage on their property. Water was backing up as the result of poor drainage and an aging water line serving their home.
Unsure of how to address these issues, the owners discussed their concerns with trusted friends and nearby neighbors. These friends were quick to refer them to Ohio Basement Authority after having a positive experience with our company during their recent exterior drainage and sump pump replacement projects.
The owners were then eager to contact us to learn more about how we could help them, and they met with one of our experienced inspectors. The inspector assessed the condition of these exterior systems, and he recommended having one of our crews update and replace these lines.
After carefully excavating the ground to gain access to the water supply line, the crew then installed a newer, thicker and more reliable pipe. The crew also installed new exterior drainage lines on the property, and directed them to drain to a catch basin in the backyard.
The homeowners are pleased to have updated exterior lines serving their home.

It’s been almost 20 years since they moved into their house, and homeowners in Marion, OH, knew it wasn’t too late to ensure their home’s health. They wondered if radon was present and affecting their quality of life.
Radon, a naturally occurring gas that is present in homes across the globe, is a silent but deadly hazard. It is a leading cause of lung cancer, and exposure to this gas has been linked to more than 20,000 annual deaths.
This concerned the homeowners, so they had their house tested for radon. They were surprised to learn their home’s radon level was 4.0 picocuries per liter (pCi/L). This also is the level at which the Environmental Protection Agency recommends mitigating radon.
After learning about Ohio Basement Authority through the AlphaEnergy Laboraties testing firm, the owners were eager to contact us for further guidance. They met with one of our inspectors who reviewed the radon test results with them, as well as our company’s mitigation procedures.
One of our crews then installed a radon mitigation system to help draw radon from the house and lower the levels as much as possible.
The owners are pleased this trustworthy repair was completed to help them create a safer and healthier home.
The representative you sent out was very thorough and had an obvious interest and concern in listening to and meeting our specific needs.
We chose Ohio Basement Authority because you were prompt to return calls and followed up with us. You also generally seemed more interested in the job than other companies.
The crew led by Jose was fantastic! They went above and beyond our expectations. When the water-damaged basement steps started to come apart after pulling them away from the wall, Jose took it upon himself to attach replacement stringers and replace the bottom two steps that were unsafe to use. That's incredible!
The clean-up was also exceptional! They left it cleaner than when they arrived!
I chose to work with Ohio Basement Authority because they are trustworthy, easy to reach, and stuck to their word. The inspector was great, responsive and courteous.

Zeke did a great job. He was very knowledgeable, thorough, and answered all my questions.
Milton Castro, Daniel, and Salvador also were great. They cleaned up like they had never been here.
The company representative I met with was friendly and professional. Another company seemed like a hard sell, and one other was expensive and I didn’t like their solution as well.
The installation crew was very careful. They put down a plastic runner where they would be walking. They had to dig a ditch in the lawn, but didn’t disturb the lawn or plants surrounding the ditch.
They cleaned up the water in the basement from a previous storm and sump pump failure, and they were very friendly.
I’m glad I hired them!!!
