Concrete Repair With PolyRenewal®!

If you have a concrete sinking problem, we also offer concrete leveling so you can enjoy your driveway, sidewalk or patio again without worry. In the past, contractors relied upon mud jacking (also known as slab jacking, concrete lifting, concrete raising, grout pumping and slab leveling) to level concrete that had settled over time. This entailed pumping concrete slurry under the settled slab to raise it and hoping that the settlement wouldn't continue. At Ohio Basement Authority we use PolyRenewal® because it is a fast & efficient method to raise sinking concrete. This simple foam injection can stabilize your concrete slab for years to come!

Basement Waterproofing in Washington Court House, OH
A homeowner in Washington Court House, OH, noticed a lot of moisture and water leakage in her basement. Her store-bought dehumidifier was not working as well as she hoped, so she called us to have a look. Inspector Jim Pierpoint suggested installed BasementGutter, a SafeDri Super sump pump, and CrawlSeal Liner. The homeowner decided to go with Jim's recommendations. The installation crew, led by Foreman Jose De Jesus Tellez Ortiz, first installed the SafeDri Super Sump System. This is a strong sump pump able to pump 2,200 gallons of water per hour. This also included an SafeDri battery backup which will keep the new sump pump running if it stops due to an electricity outage. Then, they installed BasementGutter around the perimeter. This is an interior drain system designed not to clog with dirt and sediment from under the basement floor. It has holes on the sides to collect water from all directions, and a flange at the top to accept water running down the walls. Finally, they installed CrawlSeal Liner which acts as a moisture barrier between the basement and outside. This thick plastic liner allows water to run behind it and into the BasementGutter below. It also keeps out moisture and critters, and it's anti-microbial. The homeowner is happy with these repairs, and is reassured knowing that her basement will stay healthy and dry for years to come.
Crawl Space Stabilization and Encapsulation in Washington Court House, OH
After living in their house for 10 years, homeowners in Washington Court House, OH, began to notice structural problems in their home’s crawl space. They were concerned the sagging floors and failing walls would worsen and lead to bigger problems, so they wanted to make sure their house would be structurally sound. The homeowners contacted Ohio Basement Authority after learning more about our company online. We rebuilt a section of a crumbling foundation wall and installed two IntelliJacks to stabilize and help raise the sagging floors. We also encapsulated the crawl space in durable CrawlSeal liner. Crawl Space Waterproofing and Stabilization in Washington Court House, OH
After living in their house for 27 years, homeowners in Washington Court House, OH, were thinking about selling their house. Before putting the home on the market, they knew they needed to address various health and safety issues within the home. They noticed cracks in the drywall, sagging areas of the floors, and unpleasant odors. While they rarely go into the crawl space, they suspected these problems originated from this area under the house. They wanted to correct these problems once and for all, not only for their well-being, but for the benefit of future owners. They contacted Ohio Basement Authority after learning more about our company online, and one of our inspectors recommended several permanent solutions. To address water in the crawl space, we installed the CrawlDrain drainage system that intercepts any seeping water. This water is then directed to the SafeDri sump pump system and pumped out of the crawl space and away from the home’s foundation. The crawl space also was encapsulated in CrawlSeal liner. This durable liner isolates the home environment from the earth, serves as a moisture and vapor barrier, and helps insulate the crawl space. A dehumidifier also was installed to clean and filter the air, control humidity, and eliminate odors. Several IntelliJacks also were installed to permanently reinforce the failing floor joists and help raise the sagging floors back to level. One of the foundation walls in the crawl space was beginning to crack and bow, so four IntelliBrace beams were installed to stabilize and help straighten this wall. The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing these reliable permanent solutions have helped create a safer and healthier home.

Radon Mitigation in Washington Court House, OH

After living in their house for six years, homeowners in Washington Court House, OH, began to seriously question the health and safety of their living environment. Their sons have their bedrooms in the basement, and they were most concerned with the level of radon in the basement and rest of the home.

Radon, a naturally occurring radioactive gas, can be found in homes across the globe. This colorless, odorless, tasteless gas is a leading cause of lung cancer, and it is responsible for more than 20,.000 annual deaths.

After testing their home for radon, the owners learned the radon level in the house was slightly lower than 4 picocuries per liter (pCi/L). This latter amount is the level at which the Environmental Protection Agency recommends mitigating radon.

The owners wanted to make every effort to lower their home’s radon level as much as possible, so they began to research the next step. They found information about Ohio Basement Authority online, and they were eager to contact us for further guidance. They met with one of our inspectors who reviewed the radon test results with them, as well as our company’s mitigation procedures.

One of our crews then installed a radon mitigation system to draw radon from the house and expel it outside, thus helping lower the inside radon levels as much as possible. A domed and sealed lid also was placed over the sump pump system in the basement to prevent radon intrusion through the sump pit.

The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing this reliable installation has helped them create a safer and healthier living environment for their family.
