Fix Sinking Concrete With PolyRenewal®!

If you have concrete settlement problems, we also offer concrete leveling so you can enjoy your driveway, sidewalk or patio again without worry. Mitigating Elevated Radon Levels in Columbus, OH
Before selling her house, a homeowner in Columbus, OH, knew she needed to make several improvements to enhance the home’s health and safety. One of these necessary steps was to address the level of radon in her home. Radon is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas that is produced by the decay of uranium in rocks and soil. Radon is a naturally occurring gas, and it is present across the country. It is, however, extremely hazardous. Exposure to radon has been linked to more than 20,000 deaths per year, and it is a leading cause of lung cancer. Radon is particularly dangerous for smokers and former smokers. After learning more about our company online, the homeowner contacted Ohio Basement Authority so we could test her home for radon. The results indicated the home’s radon levels were 35.8 pCi/L (picocuries per liter). This is almost nine times higher than the level at which mitigation systems are recommended for homes, which is 4 pCi/L. The homeowner was eager for us to install a radon mitigation system in her home. This involved creating suction points to pull radon gas from out of the home. One suction point was created by drilling a hole in the basement’s slab floor, and the other was via the sump pump system. PVC pipe was connected to the suction points and directed to the home’s exterior. The pipe also is connected to an exterior fan that helps ventilate the radon gas outside. We also installed a domed and sealed lid on the sump pump system. The homeowner now has peace of mind knowing this reliable repair solution has helped create a safer and healthier living environment for the next owners.

Five heavy-duty steel beams were installed along the south foundation wall. The beams were tightly secured against the wall with steel brackets that are anchored to the basement floor and floor joists. The beams stabilize the wall in its current position. The beams can also be tightened for possible wall improvement. The homeowners are pleased to now have a home that will be structurally sound for years to come. Push Piers Stabilize Leaning Chimney in Columbus, OH

A homeowner in Columbus, OH, has lived in his house for seven years, and he recently began to notice the chimney was separating and leaning away from the house.

A leaning chimney is one of the more scary and dramatic signs of foundation settlement. Sometimes chimneys are built on foundations that are not connected to the rest of the home, making them even more at risk for settlement.

The owner wanted to find a permanent solution to this problem, so he contacted Ohio Basement Authority. One of our expert crews installed three Push Piers underneath the chimney's foundation to lift it back into place and permanently stabilize it.

The homeowner now has peace of mind knowing the chimney and his home will be structurally stable for many years to come.

Radon Mitigation System Creates a Healthier Home in Columbus, OH
Homeowners in Columbus, OH, were impressed by the permanent basement waterproofing solutions we installed before the previous owners sold the house. They didn’t hesitate to contact us when they wanted to take an additional step in creating a healthy home. The owners learned more about radon and its health hazards, as well as what we can do to address it. Radon is an odorless gas produced by uranium decay in rocks and soil. It is common in every state, especially Ohio. This gas is as cancer-causing as tobacco and asbestos, and results in more than 15,000 deaths each year. We tested the owners’ home, and the radon level was 8 pCi/L (picocuries per liter). The level at which a mitigation system is needed is 4 pCi/L. This concerned the homeowners, but we installed a radon mitigation system for them. This involved drilling a hole into the crawl space to create a suction point. The radon gas is vented through PVC pipe connected from this hole to a fan in the attic or top of the home for proper ventilation. The radon entry points were sealed, and the crawl space also was encapsulated in CrawlSeal. The owners are pleased the air quality and health of their home has been improved by this reliable system.
Radon Mitigation System Helps Restore Resale Value and Create a Healthier Home in Columbus, OH

Almost one year after Ohio Basement Authority installed permanent basement waterproofing and foundation repair solutions for homeowners in Columbus, OH, they eagerly contacted us again to address another issue.

The owners were concerned with the home’s radon levels. Because they were in the process of selling their home, they wanted to ensure its resale value and health.

Radon is a product of uranium decay in rocks and soil. While this colorless, odorless, naturally occurring gas is present across the country, it is a silent killer. Radon is linked to more than 20,000 deaths each year, and it is just as cancer causing as smoking.

After testing the owners’ home, the results indicated the radon levels were 4.5 pCi/L (picocuries per liter). This is just slightly higher that the level at which radon mitigation systems are recommended for homes, which is 4 pCi/L.

To be on the safe side and make every effort to get the home’s radon levels as low as possible, we installed a radon mitigation system to safely pull radon from the home and ventilate it outside.

The homeowners are excited to have this reliable system in the house to create a healthier living environment for the next owners.

Dehumidifier Creates a Healthier Basement in Columbus, OH
A homeowner in Columbus, OH, was not having basement issues other than a bit of moisture. He wanted to purify the air in his home, and was interested in a dehumidifier. He contacted Ohio Basement Authority, and we installed the dehumidifier in his basement. The High-Performance Dehumidification & Air Filtration System is powerful, efficient, and fully ductable. It will dry the air and automatically drain the water out of a hose. It does not have to be emptied like a conventional dehumidifier. The dehumidifier will take 10 times the water out of the air as a typical dehumidifier, yet uses the same energy. The homeowner is excited to have a cleaner and healthier living environment.

Upon removing the finished walls in the basement, they noticed the foundation walls were severely cracking and bowing inward. These are common signs of hydrostatic pressure, or pressure exerted on foundation walls by expanding exterior soils.

After noticing water and foundation issues in her basement for many years, a homeowner in Columbus, OH, was motivated to address and correct these problems once and for all. She contacted Ohio Basement Authority after seeing one of the company's ads on TV. One of our expert crews installed many permanent basement waterproofing products and foundation repair products in and around her house. BasementGutter drainage, a SafeDri Triple sump pump, a dehumidifier and downspout conductor lines were installed to keep the basement dry. Carbon Fiber wall supports and structural steel I-Beams were installed to reinforce the cracking and bowing foundation walls. Additionally, the existing windows were replaced by glass block windows, and PolyRenewal was injected under sinking exterior concrete to raise it back to level. The owner was excited to have all of these products installed that her home will now be a safe, stable, dry and healthy living environment for many more years to come! Wall Anchors Stabilize Cracking, Bowing Foundation Wall in Columbus, OH
A homeowner in Columbus, OH, has lived in his house for more than 20 years. During that time, he has noticed a cracking and bowing foundation wall in the 50-year-old home getting worse. He was concerned with the home's structural integrity, and he contacted Ohio Basement Authority after hearing positive feedback about the company. BasementGutter installation leads to a dry dream home in Columbus
Mr. Carla Corroto and Mr. Paul Clarke recently relocated to the Columbus area and fell in love with their dream home. After only living in their house for a week, they realized the basement needed some work. They searched the Internet and came across Ohio Basement Authority on Angie's List, and their dream has come true. The BasementGutter system with an SafeDri Battery Backup sump pump, as well as a dehumidifier, was installed to help keep the home healthy and dry. To make sure the home was structurally sound, several beams were framed properly and Carbon Fiber was installed where paneling previously hid the wall.
BasementGutter Interior Drainage System and SafeDri Super Pump Keeps Bexley, OH, Basement Dry
A damp, leaking basement with deteriorating walls troubled a homeowner in Bexley, OH, who wanted to address and prevent these problems in the future. The area was not dry or usable, and it lacked an interior drainage system and sump pump. Ohio Basement Authority installed the BasementGutter interior drainage system and SafeDri Super Premier Sump Pump System. These products provide a complete solution to keep the basement dry all the time, which met the homeowner's goal. The homeowner now has a dry, usable basement with a Lifetime Transferable Warranty.
Waterproofing a Leaking Basement in Columbus, OH
After living in their house for a few years, homeowners in Columbus, OH, recently started to notice a problem with water intrusion in their basement. They have thought about finishing the basement, but they don’t want to have to deal with the effects of leaking water. After hearing about Ohio Basement Authority, the owners wanted to contact us to learn more about how we could help them. They met with one of our inspectors who evaluated the condition of the basement. Our inspector then recommended some of our basement waterproofing solutions. One of our crews then installed these trustworthy products. They waterproofed the basement with the BasementGutter drainage system, SafeDri sump pump, and exterior FreezeGuard attachment. The BasementGutter system catches seeping water from the walls and floor and then directs it to drain to the SafeDri system. This system features two powerful pumps inside its liner, along with an external backup battery. The SafeDri pumps water out of the basement and away from the home through a discharge line, and an FreezeGuard was attached to this line to prevent flooding if the line freezes or is blocked. The homeowners are happy these solutions were installed to help keep their home safe and dry.

Water leakage in the basement when it rains
in Alden Avenue in Columbus
I have water coming in from multiple areas at the bottom of my basement walls and seeping up through the floor. It's an old house (about 100 years old) and has a concrete floor likely poured over the original dirt floor. The house has settled over time and the poured concrete sidewalks around the side/back of the house are no longer sloped away from the house. My backyard has very poor drainage, possibly due to a layer of clay a foot or so below the surface. The walls are block and seem in decent shape in most areas, but some sections will likely need some attention where water has been coming in worse. I also have some mold issues that need remediated. No sump pump. Drain is connected to sewer the main.

We have occasional leaking in the unfinished portion of our basement. It appears to be coming down one wall, at which point it runs to the floor drain. We do need to have the grading addressed on that side of the house, but we're unsure if that's the cause or if there is something else going on. Additional information: How did you hear about us?: TV

There is water leaking into the basement when each time it rains or when snow melts. It's looks like it's coming from where the wall meets the floor at several locations. We don't have a flooded basement, just thin water trickle lines from the wall to the floor, and down the floor drain. I would like to have someone out on Wednesday or Thursday around 6:30pm if that is possible. Additional information: How did you hear about us?: Internet Search

I have a ~24' long, ~4' tall basement wall (it's crawlspace conversion with a bench wall) that is cracking from water/soil pressure. The basement has been waterproofed by a previous owner, but apparently drainage issues were left unaddressed. In other words, the basement is dry but structural issues are progressing. I've had an engineer look at the wall and it is still structurally sound. However, I'd like to keep this from progressing. Can you give me a ballpark figure on what it would cost to re-backfill this wall and/or fix the grading around it? The house is free standing on over a quarter of an acre. There is however an attached carport over this wall. I'd send photos but there is no field on this form. Let me know if there is any more information you need. Thank you. My walls are a little bowed in my basement. I will be regrading my yard to prevent further water intrusion which has been determined to be the cause of the bowing. I would like an inspection to determine 1) if carbon fiber strips would be a potential solution, 2) if so, what would be the cost, and 3) if not, then what are my alternatives. The house is smaller, 988 sq, and the basement runs the full length and width of the home. It's partially finished but will need to be torn out to remedy the bowing.

Water outside has been mitigated about as much as possible with proper grading and newer gutters/downspouts/street drainage. Likely internal waterproofing just needs redone.

This week, I discovered large cracks in my unfinished concrete basement floor. I would like professional advice on what can be done - very concerned about my basement. Please call me on my cell - 614.975.0000 or during the week at my office 614.688.1009. Thank you.

My sump pump has been running about every 10 minutes for almost a week, and we haven't had rainfall until the last couple of days. I'm concerned there is some type of issue with ground water getting into it (nothing inside the house yet) but I'm not sure how to test this, or if it's possible there is a city pipe leaking underground or something. I don't know how to proceed or what the likely culprit is, but right now it's pumping tons of water out to the curb every day.

I'm seeking help with drainage correction. There is a French drain around the perimeter of my basement, however, with the recent high volume/high rainfall rate, it can't keep up. The French drain overflows and the basement gets wet. The sump pump is working as designed, its just the French drain not draining fast enough. There can be standing water between my house and garage on the east side of the house. As well as along the north side of my house (which is grassy but completely shaded). The driveway comes right against the house on the entire south wall and most of the east wall. The failure of the French drain occurs on the east wall. I would ideally like to get the grading/slope corrected so that water doesn't funnel towards the house. I've considered taking up part of the driveway to correct for this. I really want to avoid having a second sump pump in another location in the basement due to the small size of the house. The French drain, sump, and steel I-beam reinforcements were all done in 2011. The basement is unfinished. I'd like to get an estimate of different solutions to this issue soon if possible.

I appear to have a leak in my water main outside of the basement exterior wall. The sump pump is not cycling and I can't notice any wet or soggy spots in the grass.

We live in an older home (1925) in Merion Village with a block basement and a poured concrete floor. During heavy rain events (like last weekend's for example), we frequently have seepage that actually comes up through the floor and runs over to a corner drain. This isn't a huge deal, but we are planning on staying in the home long-term and would like to remedy this so we don't have to worry about mold, etc..

I'm having water leak through the walls in one corner of the basement where the the gutter downspouts empty to the ground. The water comes out about 4 from the wall, a day or so after it rains. The gutters were at one time connected to an underground drain that emptied to the street, but it was not draining properly so I disconnected them. I am wanting an opinion about whether I should have the underground drain cleared/repaired and the grading along the house fixed before trying more invasive fixes.

About 3 years ago our sump pump started kicking on constantly. It runs every 45 seconds, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year no matter how much rain. It's putting out about 3600 gallons of water each day. When the first pump burned out from overuse, the basement flooded about 2 feet. Water company says it's not a leak from them. We've had all the external pipes replaced and the septic tank tested- it's not back flow or a leak from the home. We're out of ideas and need help getting our basement dry again!

I was called and told that this refund would have processed to my credit card on the 18th of October. I have nothing on my bank account showing a credit was issued on this day or in the two weeks after. I'm really angry that I have to continue to follow up on your mistake MONTHS after the fact, and the only way I can seem to get a call back is by submitting forms through your quote requester system. If you did process this refund to my credit card like you claim I need a receipt showing that this was completed so I can go to my bank and get some answers. Thank you.

We Googled "basement vendor," and your name came up.

The office staff was outstanding with the follow-up. As a team they work very well together. There's no room for improvement, as they are tops!

We chose Ohio Basement Authority because you offered the best solution for our issues. We are very impressed with your staff, the inspector, and the installers. The inspector was outstanding, very personal and competent, and very well-versed.

The crew arrived on time and went right to work. They were exceptional, very courteous and professional. The clean-up was very good. The crew paid attention to detail and removed debris from our site.

We are satisfied with every aspect of the company.

The inspector was a very interesting person, and he “interviewed” me about my needs and expectations. Some of the interviewing was more like a psychological profile wherein he asked good questions. This led me to think and believe he had my best interest at heart. He’s a good guy, a real keeper.

Mike is a super man. He represented your company well. He spoke with authority, leading me to believe he knew what he was talking about. He also pointed out where the problems were. I felt really comfortable with him; there was no pushing, just straight talk. When he came into the house he always took his shoes off, even though I told him it wasn’t necessary. We all got on our hands and knees, and they showed me where to touch the floor and foundation to sense the floor raising. He was a great salesman.

The men were courteous, clean and didn’t use improper language. As a retired COO of a large company, I can tell you that you have three outstanding employees. They spoke highly of your company and how you took care of your employees.

I would recommend you to anyone who asks.

I chose to work with Ohio Basement Authority because of the price and a referral from a friend who used your company.

Travis was very clear and answered all my questions. And Manuel and his crew were great! The conditions weren’t the best. We had a rainy day, but the crew did a great job of cleaning up. Given the conditions, they did a fine job. The overall performance of the installation crew was excellent. They are a great team and they worked very efficiently. I’m glad I had them here.

I initially heard about Ohio Basement Authority from commercials, and I chose to work with the company because of the presentation. Danny did a good job of making sure he got all the info he needed. He also brought a production manager with him on a visit, as well.

Heather kept me up to date as to schedules.

The crew had a little trouble the first day due to an issue with a trailer, but after that they were pretty much consistent. I had great crews. It was Jim, Pat “Chuck” and Levi for the first week, and then Bob, Chuck and Dave. Both groups were great.

Overall, it was a good experience with no problems.

We’ve seen Ohio Basement Authority’s television commercials, and we chose to work with the company because of the inspector’s knowledge of the products and services to be provided. The inspector’s presentation was nicely done, and the office staff was very courteous and helpful.

Milton, Daniel and Salvador were great. They arrived promptly at the time we were told they would arrive. They answered any questions we had and kept us updated as to what was being done. They did a great cleanup job. I didn’t have to do anything when they were done. I would give them a 10+ in all areas. They went above and beyond the call of duty, and they are great representatives of your company. We are well pleased.

The installation crew on this last job was here on time all three days, and worked steadily and hard. They introduced themselves and were accommodating and polite. It was a very dusty job, but they contained the dust well and the clean-up was as good as it could be.

We have spent a lot of money with the three jobs with OBA this year. We were very concerned we made the best decisions for our money, but the jobs were all installed well. I feel positive.

The representative we met with was friendly and professional, and we chose to work with Ohio Basement Authority because of the pricing and this salesman.

The crew was phenomenal. They arrived a little early daily and took the time to speak with us each morning to make sure we knew what they would be doing that day. They cleaned up behind themselves daily, both inside and out. They were amazing. I would have this crew back any time. They were that good.

We usually don’t like having anyone work in or on our home. But this crew was very friendly and made us comfortable while they were there. They respected our home.

I’ve seen Ohio Basement Authority on TV, and I chose to work with you because of the pricing and explanation of the process and what to expect.

The inspector I met with was very professional and very thorough in his presentation, and he explained everything very well.

The crew called and let me know when they would arrive, and they were very courteous. I felt like they genuinely cared about doing the job well.

It was the best experience that it could possibly be. I was very happy with everyone that was involved in the process.

I heard about Ohio Basement Authority on TV.

I chose to work with this company because of the prompt response to my original request, and when the company representative came he did not rush us. He took plenty of time with us, and was very thorough, knowledgeable and willing to answer all of our questions.

The installation crew arrived on time, and the workers were also very courteous and willing to answer our questions.

We are satisfied with the basement and foundation work.

I found out about you through your commercials, and the office staff was extremely helpful and always courteous.

The inspector, Victor, knew his stuff and was respectful. Even though I got estimates that were lower than yours, the confidence of Victor inspired me to stick with your firm. I also appreciate the fact that you gave me a lifetime warranty!

The installation crew arrived on time all three times, and always called me with their expected arrival time! Joe Stuber and his partner were courteous and respectful, and patiently addressed all of my concerns! The clean-up was also satisfactory.

Your staff was very helpful and prompt when I called at the last minute to get a quote on work.

The inspector, Justin Tise, was super helpful and very professional when he came into my home. He also gave an excellent sales presentation, and I believe the cost was reasonable.

The crew members were highly professional and courteous as well.

Your whole team is very valuable. Please keep up the good work!

I heard about Ohio Basement Authority on TV and through Angie's List. I was given names of two other places, but they were not prompt and had poor follow-through. I chose to work Ohio Basement Authority because of their Angie's List reputation and Corey's attention to detail.

Corey is the ultimate salesman! He took so much time to measure, explain, and discuss options with me.

I found Ohio Basement Authority on Angie's List.

I thought the representative was knowledgeable, and gave an interesting assessment of the different approaches to solving our problem. Along with the price, that's why I chose this company.

The work team was courteous and arrived on time, and was committed to fixing our problems.

I was contacted quickly after filling in the questionnaire online, and I appreciated the follow up call before the day the project was scheduled.

The inspector was not a salesman.  He was very professional and polite.  He was much different from any other company that came before him.  (which is why I went with Ohio Basement Authority)  The inspector looked for a solution to my problem, rather than selling me a prepackaged fix.

The production staff were 15 minutes early!!!  They were very professional, worked the entire time, really seemed to know what they were doing.

They really went above and beyond, the crawlspace looks like a completely different space and looks FANTASTIC

I chose to work with Ohio Basement Authority because you had good reviews online, and you were highly recommended by Scott at the Lowe’s Easton pro desk.

Because your installers respected my home and treated me well, I plan on purchasing additional services from your company.

The office staff was very courteous and helpful in my contact with them with updates and information!

The inspector I met with was wonderful. I’ve heard a lot of pushy sales pitches from people who talk down to me, and I was pleasantly surprised that I had a great, productive conversation about my options without feeling pressured.

Those are some reasons I selected your company. And you sent me so much great info! I also appreciated the punctuality and follow-through.

The installation crew arrived 15 minutes early, and they were great! They were so nice, and they got the job done in the rain. Huge props!

Thanks for everything! I’m super excited that my house isn’t sinking anymore, and that you were the first to have a real solution to the issue. I’ll definitely refer you if the opportunity is there!

Everyone we dealt with at Ohio Basement Authority was courteous and helpful.

The installation crew arrived on time, left on time, and kept the place clean. They covered everything in plastic. I thought I was going to have to tell them to cover a couple other things, but when I went down to the basement everything was already done above and beyond my expectations.

The foreman was helpful and explained everything while they were doing the work. He ran things by me that needed to be, and even asked if they could play music. Of course they can, I had no problem, but it was very nice to ask.

The office staff was very professional, and Brian, the company representative I met with, was very good. He answered all my questions whenever I had any.

I really did not shop much. I also called another company, but the phone response was not great, and twice they failed to show up on time to give an estimate.

You have a great crew. They were all on time and kept me informed throughout the project, including texting me images of the work progress.

I had a good experience with this company.

Your office staff was courteous, helpful and friendly. The inspector I met with also was very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. He exceeded expectations in his service.

I’ve seen Ohio Basement Authority’s TV commercials, and I chose to work with the company because of the professionalism and helpfulness of Drew, my inspector. Also because one of your competitors has a less than stellar reputation.

Manuel, Sergio and Francisco with the installation crew were hard-working and professional in their work. They also were very courteous, and their clean-up met my expectations.

There was no pressure, and the representative did a very good job of explaining the problem, solutions and products. He answered all questions in detail, and there were no salesman "games." I chose Ohio Basement Authority because of the professionalism of the sales person, and because the products (dehumidifier, sump system, and drainage), were of higher quality than other companies'. Everyone on the crew was courteous. They did a good job of covering all things left in the basement. Justin explained everything they were doing each day, then showed what was done and answered all questions. There were no problems during the install, and I am very happy with the service.

I heard about Ohio Basement Authority through ads on TV. I had previously used another company in my former home, and they were very expensive. I wanted to try someone else to compare satisfaction.

The Ohio Basement Authority company representative I first met with was very thorough and explained everything. I was satisfied with the four-man installation crew that did the work. They arrived on time, were courteous, and finished the job in two days.

The inspector I met with was great, and so were the installers. All of them were great fellas.

Those installers were great. They were so patient and kind, and they really explained everything. They did the perfect job, and they love your company. That's positive when an employee thinks so much of his employer!
